ABOUT OUR BUSINESS

The Robert Engel Company was founded in 1953 by Robert Engel. Frank Klaes, a Detroit Edison engineer joined Bob in 1956 and the company became Engel-Klaes Company. In 1989, Brian Harrington joined the company and in 2000, he became owner and changed the company's name to HEK Inc, Harrington, Engel, Klaes.

In early 2017, Brian brought on Kenny Stevens to help manage the business and continue the HEK Inc name throughout the Electrical and Utility market. We currently employ multiple outside salespeople and have an office staff ready to cover all the customer's needs.

Over the half century of being in business, HEK Inc has represented some of the best manufactures in the Electrical Utility industry.  Through this time, HEK has created excellent relationships with the utilities, distributors, consultants and contractors in our territory.  We always put the customers needs first to ensure our offerings are in the best interest of the end user.  Our commitment to our principals and customers is not to make one sale, but to build a relationship backed by quality manufactures and service.
